A BILL to permit Kanawha County, wherein the capital city, Charleston, is located and whose population is over 150,000, to decide on metro government, as provided in article seven, chapter seven-a of the Code of West Virginia, by majority vote.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
PERMITTING KANAWHA COUNTY TO DECIDE ON METRO GOVERNMENT BY MAJORITY VOTE.

§1. PERMITTING KANAWHA COUNTY TO DECIDE ON METRO GOVERNMENT BY MAJORITY VOTE.

Elections to decide upon a metro government and charter, as provided in article seven, chapter seven-a of the Code of West Virginia, shall be decided by a majority vote in Kanawha County because the capital city, Charleston, is located within its borders
and because its population is over 150,000.
NOTE: The purpose of this local bill is to permit the voters of Kanawha County to decide by majority vote in an election to decide upon a metro government and charter.
